  Hi Everyone in LIBE 477B! Wow, we are in the last week of our class and time flies by quickly!  My digital artifact was using Youtube as my platform to upload “How To’s” and I have three videos uploaded. How to “Canva” (features to create the best take-home newsletter)  How to use iMovie to edit videos for the year-end slideshow How to use information literacy to inform your classroom on fake news for internet safety Youtube? I used YouTube because I learned from (Basgall et al., 2023) that YouTube specifically, is effective for professional development. The main results found that teachers of all educational stages had satisfactory skills in the use of YouTube to search and communicate information however low, concerning the creation of audiovisual material through YouTube (Basgall et al., 2023). Module 11 : Target Audience! (Who, Why and How)!

  Target Audience? My audience focuses on BC Teachers because 97% or 99% of secondary schools report that teachers use technology to communicate with students in class (People for Education, 2019). I've also personally been through the BC curriculum from K-12 and it is an audience I’m excited to add more information to. There was also a report that  33% of  elementary schools and 66% of secondary schools encourage students to “bring your own device” everyday (People for Education, 2019). However, studies show Canadian teachers are very positive about technology in their classrooms but face challenges for successful implementation. MediaSmarts goes on to say “we need to carefully examine relationships between pedagogy, curriculum and technology” (Hosselet, 2016). Module 10: Final Vision Project Design Considerations

  Introduction  Leading from the library mentions "Information and digital tools are changing at an amazing pace, many great unknowns in the world as teachers, parents, administrators and students are looking for guidance on how to navigate this ever-changing technological landscape" (Miller & Bass, 2019). One of the LeadingLibs Challenge really resonated with me was "Review your school's stratefic plan and identify where you might offer direct support". I believe in the power of social media to help others understand new technological platforms.  I believe both Tiktok and Youtube can help support the learning of the community!  TikTok is the platform I am hoping to choose for my Vision of the Future because of how popular the App is! Module 9: Summarizing and Discussing Phase 2 Topics and Interests

  Inquiry Blogging Phase  My key takeaways so far :  Module 5  Love of reading!  I loved this module and my key takeaway from this module was that inspiring reading is important in a classroom! Fostering a culture of reading can be done through ways such as scavenger hunts at the library, reminding parents via newsletters and buddy reading!  Module 6  ICT Skills and Pedagogy! My takeaways here was to keep practicing the skills that are the most unfamiliar. For example if making videos on tiktok was unfamiliar to me.. I would block out time in the morning or evening to practice making 15 second videos on tiktok. I also think making learning plans can help organize specific ICT skills that I would want to work on that week. There are great Reddit communities to talk about new skills and current events via social media or technology!
